Fall Picnic - October 10 SaturdayDate: Saturday October 10; 11:00AM-3:00PM
Location: Pavillion #1 at the Melton Hill Dam
Activities: The shelter is just by the river and has a basketball court nearby; we will plan for some fun games for the kids and adults and also draw some door prizes.
Bring your family and friends: Please e-mail me if you plan to attend and let us know how many people will attend. Please reply by Wednesday night so we have a chance to prepare enough food.
Directions:
From West Knoxville -- Take I-40/75 West; keep right after Watt Rd Exit
to take I-40 East toward Nashville; take Exit 364 (1st one after the
I-40/75 split) and make a right turn at the end of the ramp to Highway 95 north;
after about a mile (before you get on the bridge) turn right to the Melton
Hill Dam reservation; follow the sign to the dam and you will see campground
on the hill to your right; the shelters are on your left; our shelter is #1
by the river.
From Oak Ridge --
1) Take Pellessippi parkway to Knoxville and follow I-40/75 east
directions; or
2) Take Oak Ridge Turnpike to the west end; keep driving for 2-3
miles; take a right to Highway 95 south towards Lenoir City; after passing
ORNL west entrance and drive about 2 more miles, take a left after your
pass the bridge to the Melton Hill Dam reservation.
2009 Knoxville Dragon Boat Festival - June 27An event that sparks fun, fundraising and community bonding is back in Knoxville. The 7th Annual Knoxville Dragon Boat Festival, benefiting Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM), will be Saturday, June 27 at the Cove at Concord Park. What makes the Festival so special is that the event is consistently supporting by local Chinese community. Our team, Dragon Descent, will make the 7th appearance.
