OCA-ET E-mail Policy
The e-mail list server for OCA-ET is hosted by KORRNET in
Knoxville, Tennessee. All registered members with e-mail access are listed to
receive and exchange OCA related information. OCA’s mission can be summarized
as:
- Promoting active participation in civic and community affairs.
- Securing equal rights and equal opportunity.
- Eliminating prejudices and stereotypes and securing social justice.
- Building coalitions.
- Providing education and training, including leadership development.
- Fostering positive images and enhancing the appreciation of chinese
and Asian American cuture and heritage.
- Promoting economic opportunities.
The following is a general guideline for e-mails sent via
oca-et-al@korrnet.org. This guideline is developed and approved by the OCA-ET
Board of Directors (BOD). A copy of this policy is posted in OCA-ET website,
www.oca-et.org, in members’ area.
- The OCA e-mail list service: oca-et-al@korrnet.org is a “members only” group.
Subscription to the list is monitored by the list moderator – vice president
for membership or his/her designate. Unauthorized subscription will be terminated.
- Only members on the e-mail list can receive and post messages to the
subscribers. Mail traffic from non-subscribers is subject to approval by the list
moderator.
- The e-mail list service is provided as service to members. It is intended as
a vehicle for disseminating information related to OCA or OCA-ET activities.
Occasional personal messages are permitted, but those should be kept at minimum
- Spam or unsolicited e-mail messages are strictly prohibited. These include,
but not limited to commercial solicitations and e-mail messages containing
political or religious contents. In time of question, the OCA-ET BOD makes
final decision on whether the questioned e-mail is appropriate for
OCA-ET listserv. Repeated offenders shall have subscriber privileges suspended.
- Each subscriber is responsible keep his or her e-mail up-to-date.
The server will unsubscribe members automatically after a threshold of bounces
(5) is reached.
- The board reserves the right to revise this policy without prior notice.
